Biography
- François-Henri BRIARD is a Knight of the Legion of Honour, an Officer of the National Order of Merit and a Knight of the Academic Palms. He was a member of the Conseil de l'Ordre des avocats aux Conseils (2003-2005). François-Henri Briard was a trustee of Sarah Lawrence University in New York (NY) for eight years. He is President of the Vergennes Institute, a member of the Historical Society of the Supreme Court of the United States and an honorary member of the Society of the Cincinnati and the Sons of the American Revolution. François-Henri Briard is also an expert at the Federalist Society, an American think tank focusing on constitutional and judicial issues (http://www.fed-soc.org/experts/detail/franois-henri-briard). He is a member of the Institut des Avocats Conseils Fiscaux (IACF) and an associate member of the Académie des Sciences Morales, des Lettres et des Arts de Versailles et d'Île-de-France. He holds the rank of frigate captain in the French Navy's civic reserve and is a volunteer military service medal holder. On behalf of the Cabinet, he was awarded the Prix de la Réserve Militaire (2011).
